Three categories. One product has appeared in four consecutive updates. One involves similar rupture and exposure concerns appearing across more than one product. No new recall has been announced for the concerns covered in this update.

What we're seeing
|
Reports describing rash, blistering, peeling skin, and chemical burn-like reactions across multiple sizes. Multiple reports say symptoms improved after switching brands. Medical care reported in several cases.

Since July 1
|
A substantial new group of complaints was published. Reports included descriptions of open wounds and reactions appearing within hours of first use. The complaints did not slow after the last update.

Current status
|
No recall. A California attorney has logged approximately 50 complaints since January and is investigating a potential class action. Manufacturer Zuru Inc. has not responded publicly. The product remains on shelves at Target.

What we're seeing
|
Multiple NHTSA complaints describing the same concern: the magnetic chest clip may look closed when it is not. Light pressure causes it to open without pressing the release buttons. Complaints include problems involving replacement chest clips sent by the manufacturer.

|
No recall. No investigation announced. The same concern has appeared across more than one report. We are continuing to watch it.

What we're seeing
|
Reports describe several serious concerns: torn harness webbing, the seat reportedly detaching from its base with a child inside, a child reaching the harness release during travel, and exposed button-battery parts. Prior recall and lawsuit activity are on record. No new recall has been announced for the more recent concerns.

UK regulator warning. Benzene above legal limits. UK regulators also warned that microwaving the toys could cause the filling to rupture and create a burn hazard. Structural failures present a choking hazard. A separate dumpling-shaped squishy toy from a different manufacturer is now showing the same type of concern.
