Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
By using Take Notice, SPLAT, or related Take Notice services, you agree to these Terms.
What Take Notice provides
Take Notice is a Children's Product Intelligence platform. Take Notice gathers and reviews information from multiple sources, including complaints, reviews, investigations, legal filings, manufacturer or retailer actions, regulatory information, and other available product information. Take Notice uses that information to provide product-level intelligence, including SPLAT results and Current Status, Monitoring Updates, Take Notice Alerts, and other editorial assessments. Members may also choose specific products for Take Notice to continue watching.
Take Notice operates independently and is not affiliated with any manufacturer, retailer, or government agency.
Information limitations
Take Notice relies on third-party, public, and other available sources that may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, or subject to change. Take Notice cannot guarantee that it will identify every complaint, incident, investigation, recall, or other development involving a product.
The presence or absence of a Current Status, SPLAT result, Monitoring Update, Alert, or member notification does not constitute a guarantee that a product is safe, a certification, a government determination, a manufacturer endorsement, or a complete record of all information involving the product.
Current Status and editorial judgment
A Take Notice Current Status is an editorial judgment supported by documented factual evidence. It reflects Take Notice's independent review of the documented information available at the time of publication. It is not a safety finding, a certification, a government determination, or a guarantee. A Current Status may change as documented information develops.
Product identity
Parents are responsible for confirming that the product, model, version, lot, date range, or other identifying information shown by Take Notice matches the product they are evaluating or using.
Official guidance
Take Notice does not replace manufacturer instructions, official recall notices, government or regulatory guidance, or professional medical, legal, installation, or safety advice. When an official recall or other government action applies, users should follow the instructions provided by the responsible authority or manufacturer.
Product Watch
Members may choose specific products for Take Notice to watch. Take Notice may notify members when a watched product's Current Status worsens or when another development is determined to deserve their attention. Watching a product does not guarantee that every new report or development will be detected or communicated.
User responsibility
You remain responsible for all decisions about purchasing, using, stopping use of, replacing, installing, or disposing of products.
Service availability
Take Notice may update, modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features as the service develops. We will not intentionally remove already-paid membership access without cause during an active paid term.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Take Notice is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages resulting from use of the service or reliance on information provided through it. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
