Meet Splat + Today’s Monitoring Update.

Monitoring update.

September 1, 2026

One pattern kept growing. One familiar product concern now sits inside a much larger category development. One product is entering a Take Notice update for the first time.

In this update

1.  Diapers — Millie Moon Diapers
2.  Toys and Play — Crazy Fun Squishy Dumpling Toy
3.  Car Seats — Nuna RAVA Next

Category 1  —  Diapers

What we're seeing

Reports continue to describe severe rash, welts, blistering, peeling, bleeding, raw skin, and burn-like reactions across multiple diaper sizes. Several reports involved care from a medical professional. Some families reported improvement after changing diaper brands.

Since August 15

The pattern kept building. New reports described the same kinds of severe skin reactions already under monitoring, so this is not recycled information from the last update. The evidence base grew, and Millie Moon remains Consider Switching.

What we're seeing

Multiple reports describe the dumpling-shaped toy bursting or leaking during use, followed by its contents contacting children's skin. Reports describe burning, rash, or skin damage. One report describes emergency-department treatment.

What's different now

The repeated product-level failure is now established inside Take Notice monitoring while a much larger CPSC enforcement action involving the broader squishy-toy category adds new context.

The bigger squishy-toy picture

On August 5, CPSC disclosed enforcement involving 55 shipments totaling 355,683 violative squishy toys. The agency flagged bursting, heated fillings, hazardous chemicals, water beads, small parts, and counterfeit products.

Important: this is category-level enforcement involving multiple unresolved product identities. It is not a recall of every squishy toy, and it does not establish that the Crazy Fun product above was part of those shipments.

What we're seeing

Two NHTSA complaints describe internal energy-absorbing foam deteriorating, separating, folding, or appearing to deform during normal use without a reported crash.

Current state

No recall or regulator investigation identified for this issue. These are consumer complaints, not confirmed defect findings.

Why it's here

This is the RAVA Next's first Take Notice Monitoring Update. Two NHTSA complaints published August 22 describe the same internal component. That was enough to bring the product into closer monitoring.

A Monitoring Update tells you what changed. Splat keeps the current record.

We keep monitoring these products between updates. If what we know changes what a parent should do, their Current Status changes with it.

We keep watching. You don't have to.
