What we're seeing

CPSC reports 191 incidents of these bouncers collapsing during use. In 115 incidents, an infant's head struck the surface underneath. At least 20 families sought medical attention for their infant.

The warning

On September 10, CPSC issued a stop-use warning covering approximately 14,200 bouncers. The agency says the importer has not responded to requests for a recall or product information.

What to do

Stop using this bouncer immediately. CPSC says to dispose of it and not sell or give it away.

What we're seeing

The U.S. recall covers 114,660 infant car seats. A screw in the carry-handle assembly can loosen, allowing the handle to detach on one side and creating a fall hazard. The recall applies to specific models and manufacturing dates, not every Britax seat.

What's different now

The U.S. recall was filed August 20. A proposed class-action lawsuit filed September 9 now challenges Britax's handling of the issue. The lawsuit contains allegations, not court findings.

What to check

If you own one of these seats, check its exact model and manufacturing date against the recall details on Splat below, and contact Britax for repair instructions and guidance on using the seat safely until it is repaired. The identified problem concerns the carry handle; this is not a finding that every Britax seat is unsafe in a crash.

What's new

A Cincinnati television station reported on a Milford, Ohio mother who says her six-month-old developed pronounced redness about an hour after a change into a diaper from a newly opened pack of Millie Moon. The mother told the station her pediatrician diagnosed a chemical burn, and that the redness went away after changing diaper brands.

Why we're bringing it back

This time, the development is a reported family account reaching the news, not a change in our recommendation. The experience described resembles concerns already in Take Notice's monitoring record, but the article does not establish what caused the reaction. We continue to recommend considering another diaper. Millie Moon remains Consider Switching.
