The short answer
These toys can look extremely similar, and the name printed on an Amazon listing may not be the name you remember.
This guide covers 11 CPSC recalls and two separate CPSC warnings involving pull-string teething toys or sets containing one. The affected toys do not all have the same identity or remedy.
Three recalled toys even share model number 688-59, but they were sold by different sellers and have different recall instructions.
CPSC says the silicone strings on the affected products can reach or become lodged in the back of a child’s throat, creating a serious choking hazard.
If your toy may match one shown here, keep it away from children while you identify it.
A toy that looks similar is not automatically part of one of these actions. A toy that does not match this guide has also not been cleared as safe by Take Notice.
What Take Notice found
Take Notice reviewed 11 CPSC recalls and two separate warnings involving these pull-string teething toys.
The notices are not interchangeable.
Three recalled toys use the same model number, 688-59, but were sold by different sellers and do not all have the same remedy.
Other toys in this group require a package label, batch number or the larger toy set to identify them correctly.
That means recognizing the toy is only the first step. The exact product identity determines which official action applies.
Find the toy that looks like yours
You may not recognize the brand name. That is normal. Start with the toy itself.
Tap the image that looks most like yours. Then confirm it using the package, Amazon order history, seller name, model number, batch number or purchase dates.
A visual match helps narrow the search. It does not confirm the recall by itself.

Same model. Different seller. Different remedy.
Three recalled pull-string teething toys use the same package model number: 688-59.
They can look nearly identical. The model number alone is therefore not enough to identify which recall applies.
Compare the seller, package, purchase dates and official CPSC images before requesting a remedy.

Not sure which one you have?
Open the identification steps
That is understandable. Many of these toys look alike, and several were sold under names most buyers are unlikely to remember. Use the information you still have.
Look for the package
Check the front, back and sides for:
- product name
- model
- batch
- seller
- label number
Check your Amazon order history
Search for terms such as:
- pull string toy
- sensory toy
- Montessori toy
- baby teether
- highchair toy
Open the original order and compare:
- listing image
- seller
- purchase date
- product name
Compare the official images on this page
Use appearance to narrow the candidates. Do not treat appearance alone as confirmation.
Check the exact notice
Once you think you have a match, compare the seller, package, model/batch and purchase information against the linked CPSC action.
What if I threw away the package?
Use:
- Amazon order history
- purchase email
- seller name
- listing image
- approximate purchase date
If you still cannot confirm the identity, keep the toy away from children while the identity remains unresolved.
A visual resemblance alone does not prove that one of these recalls applies.
What if I bought it somewhere else or secondhand?
Do not assume it is cleared because the seller or package does not match this guide.
Some products may have moved through resale, gifts or other sellers.
Keep a possible match away from children while you investigate.
Do not request a remedy from a specific recall unless you can confirm that the recall applies to your product.
A CPSC warning still calls for action
Etetoo and Warm Feather are CPSC product safety warnings, not recalls with agreed remedies.
That distinction does not mean CPSC is asking parents to wait.
For both products, CPSC tells consumers to:
- stop using the toy immediately
- dispose of it
- do not sell or give it away
The seller’s failure to agree to or cooperate with a recall changes the remedy process. It does not turn the product into a cleared product.
Etetoo: exact CPSC warning (opens in a new tab) · Warm Feather: exact CPSC warning (opens in a new tab)
What to do if your toy matches
- Take the toy away from children immediately.
- Confirm the exact action. Match the product, seller, package, model or batch and purchase information against the CPSC notice.
- Follow that notice’s instructions exactly. Some recalls require photographs, destruction steps or proof before a refund or replacement is issued.
- Do not dispose of a recalled product before reading the remedy instructions unless the official notice specifically tells you to dispose of it immediately.
- For Etetoo and Warm Feather, follow CPSC’s disposal instructions.
- Do not donate, resell or give away a product covered by one of these actions.
- Keep proof of your recall or remedy request until the process is complete.
What Take Notice sees here
A parent sees a teething toy.
The official record may see a brand, seller, model number, batch, package label and recall number.
Those are not the same way of identifying a product.
In this group, Take Notice found toys that look nearly identical, toys sold inside larger sets, toys that require the original package to identify, and three recalled products that share model number 688-59 while having different sellers and different remedies.
A recall number is not the same thing as product intelligence.
Take Notice reviewed the products, sellers, model numbers, package identifiers, remedies, incident reports and official actions together.
Take Notice’s job is to connect those separate pieces into one current picture for the family holding the product.
CPSC recalls and warnings are important inputs into that picture. They are not the only form of information Take Notice watches.
What the numbers can and cannot tell you
The 11 recalls included in this guide cover approximately 304,332 units in total.
The two CPSC warnings cover approximately 42,653 units, separately.
These numbers describe units covered by the official actions. They do not tell us:
- how many affected toys are still in homes
- how many unique households bought them
- how many toys were resold or given away
- how many children currently use them
- the injury rate for each product
- whether a visually similar unlisted toy is safe
Incident reports also differ by product and should not be combined into one injury rate.
This page covers the 13 linked CPSC actions reviewed here. It is not a claim that every visually similar pull-string toy has been recalled or warned about.
Take Notice continues watching
Take Notice continues monitoring children’s products after the first notice appears.
A new complaint pattern, investigation, lawsuit, test result, warning, recall or other documented development can change what families need to know.
This page reflects the information reviewed through September 9, 2026.
